Peace vs. terror - Muslims and Hindus work together in Phulwama to restore a 80 year old temple
Sohail Khan, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir
Mar. 6, 2019

Phulwama, in Jammu and Kashmir Kashmir recently witnesses mother of all terror. More that 44 Indian security forces were killed and many injured while traveling in a bus to return home. Same Phulwama witnessed mother of peace and goodwill when Muslims and Hindus worked together to restore the eighty year old Hindu temple at Achan village of Pulwama district.

It can be a political trick to invite Hindu Kashmiris back into Jammu and Kashmiris to avoid the scandalous effect of deliberate ethnic cleansing of Hindus from the Kashmir valley in nineteen nineties. However, this has a major impact on the peace process and the perception in India on Muslim community of Jammu and Kashmir.

Many of the local residents mentioned that they like the older days when Muslims and Hindus lived together with temple bells from the Hindu temple (mandir) and the call of Azaan from the mosque.
