Obama offers Iran a real offer to talk, Iran reciprocates with permission to U.N. nuclear agency to inspect its new nuke site
It may be the biggest breakthrough US President Obama was looking for. The inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency could visit the new Iranian nuke site, according to Iran's nuclear chief.
Iran's newly revealed nuclear uranium enrichment site is said to be in the arid mountains near the holy city of Qom, inside a heavily guarded, underground facility. The pilot plant is designed to house 3,000 centrifuges that could soon produce nuclear fuel — or the payload for atomic warheads.
"Iran's leaders must now choose, they can live up to their responsibilities and achieve integration with the community of nations. Or they will face increased pressure and isolation, and deny opportunity to their own people," Obama said in his radio and Internet address on Saturday.
Iranian leadership is inclined to believe President Obama. But they also believe Obama is surrounded by the same people who want to obstruct Iranian sovereignty. The tussle is between believing Obama and a deep-rooted distrust on Hillary Clinton.
The biggest question for Iran is – do they integrate with other nations and become a satellite of nation of United States like India or Japan? Do they disobey America and become another “Iraq” and face the so called consequences from the next (may be a racist Republican regime like that of neo con Bush dministration)? Do they become another Pakistan where the whole nation is busy trying to deceive the big goliath America in the international Arena?
The choice Iran has to make is not easy. Right now they stand defiant. But in the long run they have to decide either to succumb to US Pressures or make friends with Russia and China.
One thing is for certain; it will be unwise for Iran to defy the desire of Iranian people. The stand against the 200 feet gorilla like America can only withstand if people are Iran are united. Iraq succumbed because Saddam internally was a bully. Iraqi people were not fully behind him. Iran has an advantage. Unlike Iraq, a conglomerate of Sunni, Shiite, and Kurds, Iran is predominantly Shiite majority.
Iran should take advantage of having Obama in the Whitehouse. The next “Bush” may be crazier than George Bush. It is better to settle like India did than to confront the 2 million pound gorilla.
