India bans Chinese chocolates – Chinese milk products in India found contaminated with melamine

India has comprehensively banned Chinese milk products including chocolates. Commerce Minister Anand Sharma told the Lok Sabha on Monday that alarming levels of melamine, a poison for human consumption was found in Chinese milk products including chocolates.
India has already banned toys from China for harmful high lead content.
China plans to protest to WTO but India is ready to defend its action in the world Trade body citing deliberate and repeated Chinese disregard for human safety in Chinese products.
