India is thankful to Russia for all the Russians have done in augmenting India’s defense capabilities. "Today, we join a select group of five nations who possess the capability to build a nuclear-powered submarine," Indian Prime Misniter Manmohan Singh declared in his speech at the eastern naval base of Visakhapatnam. He is under pressure to delink India from American influence after a blunder in India Pakistan joint statement.

"I would also like to express our appreciation to our Russian friends for their consistent and invaluable cooperation, which symbolizes the close strategic partnership that we enjoy with Russia," Indian PM proclaimed in the middle of great rejoice among the Indian Military community.

India's first locally built nuclear-powered submarine is a joint effort between Government and private industry with support from Russian Federation.
