After the joint statement, Chidambaram tries to hide Balochistan under the rug
After accepting Balochistan in the joint statement, India’s Home Minister P. Chidambaram has asserted that New Delhi has "nothing to do with Pakistan's internal affairs". There is a limit of outright stupidity by the current Indian Government. There is limit of committing anti-national blunder by the UPA coalition to please America!
"We have nothing to do with Pakistan's internal problems, why should we get involved?" Mr. Chidamabaram says. But how can the home minister deny the fact that it was part of the joint statement no matter which Government wrote it!
Pakistan has been accusing India of fomenting trouble in its resource-rich southwest province for decades, this is the first time Balochistan has found mention in a joint statement between the two countries.
India’s Prime Minister should resign and leave politics for allowing anti-Indian propaganda in the India Pakistan joint statement. But in reality he will not. The Government that can by Members of Parliament for 25 crores of rupees each to please America’s George Bush can do anything for the same reason!
Manmohan Singh has, however, defends the move saying the joint statement was merely taking cognizance of what Pakistan said at the Egypt talks and stressed that India was ready to discuss the issue as it has nothing to hide. Really! When did India start to be no naïve? Who will be responsible when Pakistan askes America to deliver Kashmir in exchange of Talibans in the Afghan border?
A recent Pakistani media report claimed that Islamabad had given to New Delhi a "dossier" about India's involvement in Balochistan during talks at Sharm-el-Sheikh. Official sources here have vehemently denied the sharing of any such dossier. Why such hide and seek by both the Governments? Who is insisting that?
