Indian cops killed a young MBA to win some medals?
Police atrocities span across America and in India. It is common in American white townships where men and women of color are prosecuted by racist American cops. India is no exception. The racial component in India is missing but the brutality and lack of sensitivity for Civil Rights and Human Rights parallel the racist American cops. Do not make a mistake not all cops in America or India are bad. But those who are seldom are prosecuted because of immense power given to local authorities by the Federal Government.
One such case in India is gaining immense publicity. Ranbir Singh was shot dead in an alleged encounter in Dehradun with his parents claiming that police killed their son to win gallantry medals.
Controversy erupted on Saturday over the gunning down of an MBA qualified youth by Uttarakhand police after he allegedly fled with a sub-inspector's revolver while his family claimed that he was killed in a fake encounter. Ranbir's father Ravinder Singh claimed his son was innocent. "There is no criminal record against my son. He was killed in a fake encounter because police officials want medals," he said.
Did the Indian cops made up the following story?
SSP Dehradun, Amit Sinha, claimed Singh and two others were riding a bike stolen from Haryana when they were asked to stop by G D Bhatt, a sub-inspector, at Dalanwala.
When the police searched their bag, a weapon was found in it. However, the youths overpowered Bhatt, snatched his revolver and fled.
When the SI flashed a message over the wireless, the three were intercepted at another place and there was an encounter in which Ranbir was killed, Sinha claimed.
