Does AIG's Indian partners have satisfactory solvency margins? That is the million doallr question in New Delhi. Given the fact that American financial engineering has failed, can AIG be trusted with financial matters?
The insurance regulator IRDA said having regard to the developments reported in USA, we have asked reports from the two companies in the matter.
The life and general insurance companies promoted by M/s Tata Sons and AIG are registered under the Indian Companies Act and bound by the provisions of the Insurance Act and other regulations, the watchdog said on Tuesday.
