Russia accuses G7 of justify Georgian acts of aggression
Kiran Chaube
Aug. 29, 2008

Russians are pushing ahead with their cold war agenda in spite of American and European stubborn stances. Russian PM Putin is now voicing his anti-west mantra. The cold war is on and this time it is not the nukes but black gold – the oil.

As a sign of total defiance, South Ossetia, the break away former Georgian province has announced a deal to allowing Russia to set up military bases in the Georgian breakaway region.

A NATO-Russia Military show down is possible before the US election in November provide US President George Bush can convince his Military commanders that under no circumstances nuclear arsenal will be used.

Russians are counting on the fact that Americans will not dare go the nuke way. Americans are counting on the fact that Russians need American and European money. Both Russians and Americans may turn out to be wrong.

Russia on Friday stepped up its war of words with the West over the Georgia conflict, accusing the Group of Seven industrialized powers of bias after Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said the United States had orchestrated the hostilities.

According to media reports, Russia said the G7 was "biased" and seeking to "justify Georgian acts of aggression" when it condemned Moscow's recognition of South Ossetia and Abkhazia as independent states.

Russia has faced an avalanche of criticism from the West after the five day war and its formal recognition of South Ossetia and another breakaway region, Abkhazia, as independent states.
