India should stop wasting money – Russian aircraft carrier Admiral Gorshkov no worth $2 billion – who to blame for the mess? How much are kickbacks?
India paid $1.5 billion package deal signed in January 2004 for Russian aircraft carrier Admiral Gorshkov. It is Pranab Mukherjee, the current foreign minister and then defense minister who initiated the deal withy Russians. <
Now India has shell out as much as $2 billion more to Russia to get aircraft carrier Admiral Gorshkov by end-2012.
India will pay $3.2 billion for an antique aircraft carrier designed for 1980s. It is a shame that Indian navy got a piece of junk made look nice for $3.2 billion.
Russians underestimated the work to rejuvenate scrap metal into a modern day aircraft carrier with 16 MiG-29K fighters. The 16 MiG-29K fighters themselves should be retired for better planes. Russians now want Indi9a to pay for their underestimates and efficiencies.
It seems the current UPA Government led by Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi has agreed to swallow the Russian bullet of $3.2 billion. They will hand over the money from hardworking Indian taxpayers to the Russians.
This Government of India is handing over $3.2 billion to Russians for some antique aircraft carrier. They are eager to hand over $100 billion to American companies for some substandard reactors. Who is counting the kickbacks? Is it going the Bofors way?
