One the biggest achievement of India under PM Narendra Modi’s Government initiatives is its expanding abilities to reach the blue water (deep intercontinental oceans) with full might and superpower strength. Indian Navy today is capable of taking on the role of patrolling blue water far away from Indian subcontinent with stealth, secrecy, and deadly force.

INS Karanj, Indian Navy's New ''Made In India'' Scorpene-Class diesel-electric submarine is just an example of such hardware that makes blue water adventure possible for India. The submarine INS Karanj has been constructed under the ''Make in India'' program at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited in Mumbai.

NS Kalvari and INS Khanderi submarines of the same Scorpene-Class powered by diesel-electric mechanisms, have already been commissioned into the Navy. A fourth of the class, INS Vela, has been undergoing trials at sea. Six more will be built under Project-75 India.

According to Indian Navy Chief, make-in-India initiatives are driving Indian Navy. At present, out of 42 ships and submarines on order, 40 are being constructed in Indian shipyards.
