Pakistan banned TikTok on Thursday following the lead from India in the last summer. According to Pakistani Government sources, the Chinese app was hosting immoral and objectionable content.

Pakistan Telecom Authority (PTA), nationís telecom authority, was ordered by High Court in Peshawar to ban Tiktok. Pakistan Telecom Authority proclaimed it was complying with the court order and had issued directions to the service providers to immediately block access to the TikTok app

Pakistan has 100 million Internet users. 30 millions of them use Tiktok as of this month. Peshawar High Courtís Chief Justice Qaiser Rashid Khan found some videos on TikTok as peddling vulgarity.

International political analysts were surprised at Pakistanís courage in defying Chinaís dominant authority in Pakistanís everyday business. Indiaís recent triumph over China in Ladakh has made Pakistan nervous of China who is now regarded as pseudo-dragon compared to real tiger India in the world. Chinaís retreat in Ladakh and Covid-19 Vaccine diplomacy has made China look weak. Pakistan is emboldened by looking at India as an example.
