A big batch of vaccine has been delivered to Islamabad by the Chinese Government recently. The first batch is being administered to the healthcare workers in Pakistan. Three healthcare officials have been diagnosed as Covid infected after getting the vaccine shot. According to available reports many Pakistani healthcare workers have been infected with Covid from the Chinese vaccine. The healthcare infrastructure in Pakistan is seriously panicked about the situation.

The efficacy of Chinese vaccine is also questionable. Peru has temporarily stopped clinical trials of a COVID vaccine made by Chinese drug giant Sinopharm. This decision was triggered after detecting neurological problems in one of its test volunteers.

According to Butantan Institute - a biomedical research center in Brazil, the Chinese vaccine is only 50.4% effective in preventing COVID-19 symptoms. The information was released on 12 January, 2021 negating earlier presumption that the efficacy was 78-100%.
